A College That Welcomes Transfer Students
At St. Augustine College, we welcome students who are ready to continue their education towards a degree and potentially a career. If you’ve earned college credit elsewhere and are looking to complete your degree, we’re here to help you transfer with confidence. A transfer-friendly college in Illinois, we offer personalized support and flexible pathways designed around your goals.
Transfer Student Requirements
Before registration, transfer students are required to have:
- Official transcripts from other institutions you’ve attended
- Completion of a minimum number of credit hours, depending on your desired degree
*Some programs may require additional GPA requirements for transfer students. Reach out to our admissions advisors to learn more.
Transfer Credit Evaluation
The Registrar’s Office will evaluate completed coursework from accredited institutions. If accepted as satisfying degree requirements, these transfer hours will be counted toward graduation but will not be counted in the calculation of St. Augustine College’s GPA. Only courses with a grade of “C” or higher are considered transferable. A transfer student must meet minimum academic residency requirements to be eligible for graduation. Transcripts’ re-evaluations must be addressed to the Dean of Students.
Who is the Associate Degree and Degree Completion Pathway For?
Whether you’re pursuing an associate degree for transfer or looking to complete your bachelor’s degree, our programs are designed to support your future. Many of our students begin at a community college and complete their education with us through our degree completion programs in Chicago. We’ll work with you to build a flexible curriculum for your lifestyle, with evening and weekend classes for working adults.
Academic Residency Requirements
In order to graduate from an academic program at St. Augustine College, a transfer student must fulfill the Academic Residency Requirements:
- At least 30 credit hours at SAC for a bachelor’s degree
- At least 15 credit hours for an associate’s degree.
Program restrictions may apply, and certain programs may require additional coursework, reviewed during your credit evaluation.
