SAC receives a prestigious Award for Social Work Education

 

Two years ago St. Augustine College was recognized by Hispanic Excelencia as the #1 Bachelor’s program in the nation. This year the Latino Social Work

Organization (LSWO), a national organization serving Latino social workers across the USA,  presented an award and recognition to St. Augustine College outstanding accomplishments in Social Work education. Dr. Reyes Gonzalez, President of St. Augustine College (SAC) received the award on behalf of the Institution. The award presentation took place at the LSWO Conference 2018 at the University of Illinois at Chicago on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

Dr. Gonzalez expressed appreciation for this prestigious recognition. “It is a great honor to receive this award, it has been made possible not only due to the efforts of our faculty and staff but also to the amazing hard work and dedication of our students.” Eluded Dr. Reyes Gonzalez.

At SAC, we feel that it is important that our Latino communities know about educational and social programs that inspire, motivate, and advocate for all Latinos to continue their education and improve their lives. St. Augustine College’s (SAC) Social Work Program is a community of dedicated faculty, motivated students, and inspiring alumni. The program prepares students to promote and support positive change for individuals, families, neighborhoods, and the world. Found within the courses is a unique focus on empowering the Latino community of Chicago through social justice.
