Washington, D.C. - During the
week of April 4th, representatives of St. Augustine College joined members of
the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) in Washington, D.C.,
for a legislative conference and to seek support for federal funding of
educational programs, especially those affecting the Hispanic community.

Arne Duncan addressed the conference participants, highlighting the Obama
administration commitment to making education more accessible to Hispanics in
this country, while pointing out that 1 of 5 public school students in grades
