An Accelerated Nursing Program Built for Chicago
The ABSN program at St. Augustine College at Lewis University offers two Chicago-area locations – Oak Brook and Chicago – with the same nationally recognized curriculum, hands-on clinical training, and high NCLEX-RN pass rates as Lewis University’s broader accelerated nursing program.
What sets this location apart is St. Augustine College’s commitment to meeting students where they are. Whether you are returning to school after years in the workforce, transitioning from another career, or completing your first bachelor’s degree, this program offers real pathways forward.
At St. Augustine College at Lewis University you will experience the same rigorous curriculum, expert faculty, and hands-on clinical training as our other accelerated nursing program locations. However, as an added dimension, students at the St. Augustine College at Lewis University location can take advantage of a unique benefit: the option to be part of SAC’s bilingual program for primary Spanish speakers who want to master English, and can start in Spanish and finish in English. Please note that choosing this option lengthens the time of completion for this health program.

Admission is holistic. Saint Augustine College reviews academic history, life experiences, and personal qualities, recognizing that the path to nursing looks different for everyone.
What Students Gain at the St. Augustine Chicago Location
Students in the Chicago-based ABSN program receive all the benefits of Lewis University’s nationally accredited nursing program. Along with the distinctive support that St. Augustine College provides:
-
- Option to Start in Spanish, finish in English: A bilingual academic support pathway for Spanish-speaking students who are building English proficiency alongside nursing coursework. Please note this option extends the overall time to completion.
- Small class sizes: A student-first environment where faculty know your name and your goals.
- Diverse, inclusive learning: A classroom that reflects the communities Chicago nurses actually service, with equity and cultural competency built into the experience.
- Accessibility: Two convenient locations for students living and working across the Chicago area.
How the ABSN Program Works
The accelerated BSN program moves quickly by design. Courses are compressed into 8-week sessions so you spend more time on the clinical knowledge and hands-on skills that define nursing practice, and less time waiting to get there.
Clinical placements are embedded throughout the program, connecting students to Chicago’s healthcare facilities and giving you real experience before graduation.
Faculty take a holistic approach to patient care in every course, preparing graduates to treat the whole person, not just the presenting condition. That perspective carries students beyond the NCLEX-RN and into practice as nurses who are prepared for a complex healthcare environment.
