Maria Isaura Gonzalez was a teacher, artist and a social activist in the Pilsen community. She worked tirelessly to make the arts an integral part of the daily life of the Mexican Community. She passed away six years ago, leaving an eclectic collection of Pilsen art.
St. Augustine College has the honor of featuring her exhibition which includes paintings, prints, photography and mixed media. The collection will remain up in the Main Campus building (1345 W Argyle, Chicago IL 60640) in front of the Information Commons Library. Exhibition is free.
