Internet Safety for Children

Internet Safety Workshop will be held on Friday, October 20 (5:30pm – 6:30pm) at St. Augustine College (Aurora Campus – 841 N. Lake Street, Aurora, IL).
Teaches students strategies for staying safe while online. Discusses cyber bullying, “swatting,” Internet predators, the consequences of “sexting” and other important Internet trends that put young people at risk. Presented by the State’s Attorney’s Crimes Against Children Unit.
Megan Brooks is the Chief Investigator and a sworn law enforcement officer for the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office, High Tech Crimes Bureau. As part of her daily duties as a Will County State’s Attorney Investigator, she investigates criminal violations relating to child exploitation including violations pertaining to the illegal manufacture, distribution, and possession of child pornography. She is a trained member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, a nationwide Task Force under the supervision of the United States Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
