A bright future is ahead for the new graduates of St. Augustine College. These students have worked hard to achieve their dream of becoming professionals and each of them has a story worthy of praise and recognition, which is why St. Augustine College is very proud of its graduates.
A story of accomplishment is that of Julio Tafolla who a earned a degree in Psychology. “I’m the first in my family to get a Bachelor’s Degree and I’m the pride of my parents and my six siblings. It cost me a lot of work and sacrifice because I had to study and work at the same time, but I did it thanks to the professors and counselors at St. Augustine College who always supported me in everything” he said.
Other students who have St. Augustine College in their blood include Dora Cataño, who is proud to follow in the footsteps of her son, who graduated two years ago with a Culinary Arts degree. “Today, I earned my Associate Degree in Culinary Arts, like my son, and I am very proud. Fortunately, St. Augustine College has always been close to my family and that is why next year I will bring my other son to SAC, when he graduates from high school” she said.
The ceremony was held on May 19th and featured Dr. Layla P. Suleiman Gonzalez, Director of the Human Services Program at Loyola University Chicago, and Dr. Aida Luz Giachello, Professor of Preventive Medicine Research at the University of Northwestern, who were this year’s keynote speakers.
