Asucena Díaz is a mother who thought that because she did not know English and was older could not become a professional until she began studying at St. Augustine College and graduated in Child Development in 2015. Today she feels fulfilled and recommends other mothers to follow her example.

“I feel fantastic and accomplished because I already have my child care degree. I’m very happy. Thank you St. Augustine College for helping me change my life. Thanks to the teachers, academic advisors, and all staff,” she said. “I am an Ecuadorian immigrant who did not know English and here they taught me the language while giving me a career. I was just a volunteer mom at my daughter’s school.”

“Before I did not feel so sure about myself and my future. Today I work in a Head Start School, and I have volunteer moms who help me and I tell them to go to school to succeed. Two of them paid attention to me, they are already studying at St. Augustine College, and they are very happy because today they see their future with hope and because they will become an example for their children” she concluded.
