The ceremony had the participation of folkloric dances by the group Tierra Colombiana and was followed by an emotional moment when the recorded message of the President of Colombia, Dr. Juan Manuel Santos, was disseminated. He reported on the culmination of the historic Peace Agreement between the Colombian government and the FARC guerrillas. Consul Dixon Moya emphasized the importance of this fact because it represents a great advance in the construction of democracy in Colombia.
The guests then enjoyed not only beautiful dances of Colombian folklore but also delicious cuisine and their famous coffee, in the beautiful surroundings of the Latinicity gastronomic center, located in downtown Chicago.
