The Public Library of Aurora organized a tournament among the students of colleges and universities of the area, about handicrafts to commemorate the Day of the Dead. The ornaments of the university students were exhibited in the corridors of the Library between October 28 and November 4. On the last day of the exhibition, a jury chose the best Altar of the Day of the Dead… and the winning Altar was the one prepared by the students of St. Augustine College of Aurora.

Dora Mendoza and Norma Villaseñor (shown in the photo), are the Early Chilhood Education students who received the award and who were the ones who mounted the Altar of the Day of the Dead. This altar with Catrinas and other ornaments was assembled with the Workshop made by students of SAC de Aurora made last October 20 during the Workshop of Offerings of the Day of the Dead, held at the Aurora campus. This workshop was led by Fabiola Chávez, who works in the Main Campus Library of SAC.
