Speaking to an audience of over 1,000 people, which included approximately
300 graduating students at St. Augustine College's Commencement Ceremony, Anita
Alvarez shared her story of determination and perseverance that led to her becoming the first Latina Cook County State's Attorney.
The commencement ceremony, held on May
21st, was the culmination of a journey full of sacrifices and the
start of a voyage with new challenges and opportunities for the graduating
class.
"This ceremony
represents a triumph for the graduates and their families. This is the largest
graduating class at St. Augustine and we are proud to continue growing and
serving the educational needs of our community," stated Andrew Sund, President
of St. Augustine College.
