Chicago, IL- St. Augustine College celebrated its 26th annual "EL Puente" Gala Dinner on Friday, April 23rd, at the Aragon Entertainment Center. Students, alumni, staff, supporters, community and business leaders participated in this event to raise scholarship funds for low and middle income students.

Miguel Alba, Director of Public Affairs for Jewel-Osco Midwest Division, received the "El Puente" individual award and Verizon Wireless received the corporate award. The honorees were recognized for their individual and corporate commitment to education and support of the Hispanic community.

Luis Rossi, Chairman of "El Puente" Gala Dinner Committee, was given a Special Award, in recognition of his many years of service and uncompromising support for "El Puente" and the educational needs of the Hispanic community.

"We are pleased to honor Miguel Alba, Verizon Wireless and Luis Rossi for everything they do for our community. It is with their help and that of all who support our annual dinner and other initiatives that we are able to raise funds that will help open the door to higher education to many of the students we serve," stated Andrew Sund, President of St. Augustine College.
