ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN APPLIED SCIENCES
This program provides classroom and laboratory instruction, with all the equipment used in hospitals and medical facilities, to train you as a Respiratory Therapist. You will practice in a hospital setting under supervision by highly qualified faculty.
You will perform procedures that are both therapeutic and diagnostics, including: measure lung capacity, recommended patient care plans, make changes in life support systems, operate state of the art respiratory equipment, administer and manage therapy for patients and conduct rehabilitation activities for chronic conditions.
Upon graduation, you will have the skills needed to work in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, physician's offices, home health care agencies, medical equipment supply companies, patients' homes, etc. You will also be prepared to transfer to another four year university to complete a Bachelor's Degree.
This degree requires 66 credit hours, which are generally completed within 2 to 3 years.
Salary: $40,000 to $65,000
